A mother and her 9-year-old son are in critical condition after being struck by multiple vehicles in Brampton this evening.

Peel Region Police Const. Samantha Nulle says that a little before 6 p.m. the mother and her son were on Clark Blvd. near Central Park Dr., just east of the Bramalea City Centre mall, when they were struck by an eastbound vehicle.

The boy was thrown several feet while his mother was thrown into the westbound lanes. Nulle said the mother was hit again before being pinned under a vehicle.

Both have been taken to Sunnybrook Hospital and are in critical condition.

Clark Blvd. was closed for the evening from Bramalea City Centre to Kings Cross Rd., but now has reopened.

Witnesses are asked to call police at 905-453-3311. Peel Crime Stoppers accepts anonymous tips by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.peelcrimestoppers.ca.
